Advent 9515

The Advent 9515 is weighs in at 2.8kg and it measures up at 358x36x258mm. It isn’t a huge laptop by any means but it isn’t exactly a slim jim. Huge storage space - 160GB hard drive. Not the sexiest of laptops. Poor battery life. Advent are clear cut - reliable, durable and relatively cheap. If you're looking for a laptop that'll take a battering, look no further. Advent has decided to be different. They have decided that Intel isn’t good enough. They have decided to go with an AMD chip rather than an Intel.

You’re probably all thinking the Advent 9515 laptop is going to be poorer than an Intel...but guess what? It isn’t half bad and its performance is just as good. It also comes with a 160GB hard drive which is more then enough really. It also has a DVD writer and the keyboard is easy to use, a good size and uses the most of the area it has. The touch pad below the keyboard is also half decent but it can be difficult to use at times, so I’d suggest buy yourself a mouse.
That frankly is as good as it gets from no on it is the downsides. Don’t blame me I didn’t create this amazing laptop – I hope you realised I was being sarcastic.

The laptop has been branded as a desktop replacement, yes that is true it is a desktop replacement but I’d say not the best desktop replacement. It struggles with any type of gaming.

You would also expect a desktop replacement laptop to last quite a while but unfortunately the Advent 9515s battery life is nothing to brag about. The battery lasts for about two hours, not what you would expect from a desktop replacement. Yet what do you expect it is fairly cheap.

It also has a 15.4” screen. Now I bet you’re thinking that doesn’t sound bad but wait let me finish. This 15.4” screen has a standard widescreen resolution and like many laptops the panel is not glossy. This also helps to give you the image of murky and washed out colours. So when you want to look at your home videos or pictures they will appear to be of a half decent quality.

Overall this laptop doesn’t really come with much to brag about, at all. It does pass when trying to use web browsing and word processing and other core applications of a desktop computer.

Its short battery life doesn’t help but then again you won’t be lugging this around with you much. Well it weighs in at 2.8kg and it measures up at 358x36x258mm. It isn’t a juggernaut but it isn’t exactly a slim jim.
